Summary
This card describes what students and others should know and do for a successful outcome when they are in a team situation.
Description

Faculty can use this module in class to teach students how to best form and operate as a team. It should take 1 hour to cover the material in the slide, and 1/2 hour to discuss the Team contract and how to use it. The module concentrates on how teams are a Connection and Lifelong Learning Opportunity, and how proper team formation and operation are personal and professional skills that are a key part of a students Entrepreneurial Mindset. It also connects to Creating Value because teamwork is a key component needed to effectively deliver the product or outcome in a timely manner and on budget.

Many times students think having a successful team experience and delivering the desired outcome is easy, and they need to know it is not. There are many potential points at which failure can occur.

The module covers 10 key learning points on a step-by-step basis.

It also includes a "Team Contract" that can be used as a guidance and tracking tool of team formation and activities.

While this module is focused on delivering Entrepreneurial Mindset skill development and training for individuals who are involved in a team situation, an excellent source of complementary information focused on team operation can be found in Card 1109, titled "Building, Sustaining and Leading Effective Teams and Establishing Performance Goals".
